ABOUT

muzeONE was unintentionally introduced to Hip Hop culture at an early age. From James Brown to Brass Construction, his fathers taste in music seemed to penetrate deep into muzeONE’s soul. As he grew, this new found apatite for rugged drum lines and heavy bass grooves was satisfied by the early 90’s form of Hip Hop. The culture began luring him in. As an adolescent, muzeONE began deejaying, break dancing, creating art in the form of graffiti and, eventually, rhyming. He was fascinated by the power that an emcee had over the crowd. The ability to move them from left to right at his will and chant his words with perfect cadence, to the freedom to speak his mind without consequence. He was hooked.
Unfortunately, nothing is ever as good as it seems. To muzeONE, Hip Hop was a delicious polished apple, laced with greed, corruption and immorality. It exposed him to drugs, promiscuity, drunken revelries and a darkened world view. muzeONE was sinking. But God, in His merciful foresight, knew that this path would lead muzeONE to the lowest of places, where a man has no choice but to look up. In September of 2000, muzeONE was saved.
After throwing away Hip Hop as a whole for the sake of becoming a student of Christ, muzeONE and Hip Hop, the “two lovebirds turned enemies”, were reunited in a new, purposeful manner. Hip Hop was no longer god, that job was taken. Instead, Hip Hop, as performed by muzeONE, was now a servant to Christ, by which the Loving God would use for the spreading of His grace, mercy and truth.
After 5 years rhyming as a member of the Christian Hip Hop duo “Redeemed Thought”, muzeONE found life leading him in a new direction, and thus, a solo path. He now enjoys his life with his beautiful, talented wife and their new baby girl. muzeONE continues to create powerful, truth driven music for all who would listen, in hopes that he could extend the same hand of help that pulled him from this “beautiful letdown” we know as Hip Hop.
